The Impact of InterVarsity in Boston Fenway Schools
The following is just a small sampling of quotes from students about the impact of InterVarsity's ministry in their lives.

From students at our Winter Conference in January 2009:

In response to the question, “What did God do in you this weekend?” students wrote:
-   God really taught me about what it means to devote my entire life to Him, and not just part of it, but every piece of my life.  He also taught me about how inspiring my community is and how I should depend on them more for accountability.
-    God opened my eyes to my hypocrisy in pointing the finger at my friends for being faulty in certain areas when really I had a "plank" stuck in my own eye. I was blinded by my own arrogance/pride to truly see and appreciate all my communities, christian and nonchristian, alike.
-    Everything that was said resonated in some way with me. I realized how much envy and entitlement were widening the gap between me and God. The weekend really put me one the right track making my walk with God more intimate.
-    He reinforced my need for a Christian community.  He broke me once again, reminding me of all the pain in my past, in order to show me that I cannot control and handle it all and that I must let go of it and confess that I need God's help and moreover that I need the help of the spirit living in me everyday along with a community of supportive fellow believers.  He strengthened my calling to follow Him deeply because He is the only hope for covering all of the incredible imperfections we all hold.

From students at a beginning of the year retreat:

"Prior to the retreat I felt like I underestimated the power of prayer. Between the prayer workshop and the constant state of meditation, God has really met me to encourage me that prayer is utterly essential and no doubt powerful."

"The hearts of our core group have exponentially increased in their desire to spread the good news on our campus."

"God found me in my brokenness and built a core group of missional Christians who love God and want to see lives transformed by Jesus."

"God encouraged our group and made us bold!"

"God met me during my quiet times, silent retreats, and especially during prayers with my campus."

From graduating seniors:

“Being in InterVarsity has helped me to discover my purpose in the world… God has shown me his heart for the world and given me a passion for social justice.”

“Christian people had left a bitter taste in my mouth, and coming into college I wanted nothing to do with (them)… Being in this group has been very healing for me, and I’ve slowly come back to God.”

“I just joined this year, and I had a lot of preconceptions about what it would mean if I became a Christian…I’ve learned that it’s all about Jesus.”

From students after an end of the year retreat:

“This year, God has cleansed me of anxiety and fear…. He’s taught me that his burden really is light.  I knew that in my head, but now I know it in my heart.”

“I kept trying to find my sense of self worth in all these different places, but all year long God has been teaching me to find my self worth in Him and Him alone.”

From students after a mission trip to the Dominican Republic:

“This put life into things I’ve learned in church…actually seeing people rejoice in times of trial, and seeing people believe that revival can happen…it’s different from just hearing stories.”

“These past weeks have been a chance to reevaluate my life…God really allowed me to be affected by the poverty I saw… it will probably start small, but I want to grow in making sacrifices to help others.”

“I’m in awe of God…he used me in an area where I struggle the most.”
