Since we
began as full-time InterVarsity staff in 2002, God has been consistently
growing our ministry. The number of
chapter members at BU has grown from 70 to 156, and new chapters have recently
begun at Northeastern and Mass College of Pharmacy. As total student numbers have increased, so
have the numbers of student leaders, first-time followers of Jesus, ethnic
minority students, and participants in overseas and urban mission projects.
On one
hand, we’re thrilled and realize that it’s by God’s grace that anything at all
happens through InterVarsity’s ministry to students. On the other hand, we’re compelled by the
many thousands of students throughout our city who are not part of a campus
fellowship.
Having seen
the grace and power of Jesus transform lives, bring renewal to campus, and
shape students into world-changers, we can’t help but dream of that same grace
and power touching students on a broader scale....

We admit
that this vision for growth feels like a bit of a stretch and leaves us feeling
somewhat in over our heads. But it’s
God’s great love for every student and every campus in our area that urges us
to dare to dream this way, to believe Him for more, and to give our lives to
the cause.
